From late June to early August 2015, the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) implemented an online participation process for its #digitalLEBEN digital policy program. The project was realized with Adhocracy 3, and was one of the first participation projects based on this software version. Members of the SPD, supporters and interested citizens were invited to participate in the programme debate for the federal party conference in December 2015.
The document was made available online in draft form and could be commented on paragraph by paragraph and discussed among the users. A total of eight different topic areas were up for discussion, the division of which facilitated orientation in the forum. This resulted in a constructive discussion with 500 participants who wrote over 500 comments and contributed to a higher quality of content in the programme debate.
